Grimes: Claire Boucher

Despite being horribly ill (and late), Claire Boucher of Grimes put on a decent show for KL at The Bee, Publika last night. Tiny in size and distinctly styled, Claire's sound is repetitively renowned as being tough to class - it is synth with soul, emotion washing off intentionally indiscernible vocals sung against steady electro beats. Basked in blue, Claire delivered favourite tunes such as Oblivion and Vanessa with relative grace and held the stage for a good hour before running off side with a bucket in hand. She returned sheepishly shortly after with an endearing apology, easily winning the crowd. While the 24-year-old Canadian artist, musician and video music director did not completely do herself justice last night, she definitely gets a star for effort and charm - here are some takes:
